Playlist File Locations

Recommended Posts

Hi, just installed DD2 on PC, got all playlists setup and imported from traktor OK.

Using itunes on external HDD OK

The issue i have is that using my laptop i want to be able to access the same playlists without having to export from pc and import to laptop and vice versa i changing on laptop, etc.

Is there a way to store them on an external HDD or at least copy paste from directory?

Thansk

Mark

No, it isn't possible. It's a good request, I think that we could add an option in preferences window to set the path of the internal database manually, this way you could point it to and external HDD, pendrive, ...etc.

Thanks for the reply, is there a possibility to just copy the "database" file between pc's?

Yes, it's possible. The only requirement is that the filepaths for your songs must be the same in both pc's. For example if in your laptop you have one song here:

Laptop -> "c:\mymusic\songs\mysong.mp3"

Then in your desktop you need the same filepath for that song:

Desktop -> "c:\mymusic\songs\mysong.mp3"

thanks, yes essentially, the file location of the songs is exactly the same.

what file would be the one that requires to be copied across?

thanks again

It's called "dd_music_library.sqlite", use the search function in your file explorer to locate it because the path is a little bit difficult to find. You can create a copy of this file if you right click over the "library" item in DD's directory tree list.
