Gibby's just break. I like the added (even if it's a false sense of) security The schallers are very secure. I've been using them fro well over 20 years now, and they've never failed on me Some guys straps let loose and some don't. Some folks play with the headstock pointed more skyward which would make it easier for the strap slot to slide over the button. At lest that seems the most obvious reason for some do and some don't. If Your guitar is worn nearly parallel to the ground, it would be much harder to have it slide from the button.
