vanquisher
Looking to get some information on a J 185 I bought two years ago used. I think it's a TV with the crosses but the case was brown with a purple liner and the model tag does not say TV the serial is 01001020 it also has a red dot painted above the orange tag thanks in advance

vanquisher
Most pictures I've seen a standard J 185 didn't have the crosses. Thanks for your response
aliasphobias
I'm not sure they were making the TV models in 2001. I can't say for positive and don't have any firm info. I had a TV j45 (2007) before they started using adirondack for the top and the vos finish. My j45 was Sitka top and gloss finish and did not have the orange label inside. Other things you might find helpful: the serial number was not on the back of the headstock, only inked on the neck block and as I said no label. Lets have a look at the case. The TV cases were the heavy, luggage "Cali girl", brown and pink. Many of the cases get separated from the guitars because of their anticipated value. Good looking guitar, no matter. If you send the serial number and pics to Gibson they can help you. P.S. I also don't think the red ink dot is of any consequence.
