zigzag
Ibanez guitars are an excellent value through all price points. Their mid and upper end stuff is very nice. I'm drooling. Is that model semi-hollow, chambered, or solid?

Drog
I posted a couple more pics, one showing the brass block they use under the saddle for more sustain. Zigzag, she is a solid body and weighs about 8.5 - 9lbs RCT, yes the Ibanez Artist series
merciful-evans
I've long thought these solid Artist series as among the best looking guitars ever. A MIJ model is especially attractive. Nice catch!

C-RAM
Beautiful guitar, Drog - Question: Does anybody know why Ibanez screws that big plate onto the top behind the tailpiece? I can't see any purpose it serves...
IanHenry
Beautiful guitar, Drog - Question: Does anybody know why Ibanez screws that big plate onto the top behind the tailpiece? I can't see any purpose it serves... It's a beauty, if I was ever going to desert Gibson, I think that's where I'd be looking, but yes it would look even better without that plate. J.4knee
Ibanez AR's from the 70's and 80's are excellent guitars, especially the prestige line. CONGRATS
LPguitarman
Beautiful guitar. I would say the plate behind the tail piece is just decoration.

kidblast
Ha! Nice guitar! I remember them, or something like them. Ibanez Artists. Or, I'm completely confused with a Yamaha object. rct you are thinking of the Artists, those were nice, I had a 79 Musician (MC400). Great guitar, but a beast on the shoulder, 13+ lbs. the Yamaha you're thinking about was most like the SG200, another nice axe back in the day. Santana used them for quite a while, they got pretty popular because of that. Also heavy guitars.
merciful-evans
I was trying to find some video with the sister model Ibanez AR725 earlier. Trying to get a feel for the sounds. Not much out there yet. That one may be a bit too over-blinged, but still very nice. https://guitarvillage.co.uk/products/ibanez-ar725-vls-violin-sunburst
