jaxson50
I would like to know whose great idea it was to deface a vintage D-18, I must admit I am intrigued as to what it says..
quapman
Ya I could think of a gajillion better places to visit than the middle east. And I was never much of a Cryan Adams fan. Defacing the guitar isn't real cool though. But it's still just a guitar.

merciful-evans
I've been there, accompanied by armed escort. Whenever they bowed to pray, I felt vulnerable. Good luck to Bryan and his commitment to playing there though. I respect that.
'Scales
I lived in Cairo a few months on a work project a few years back. It's an amazing place in many ways (not all of them great for sure) and gives you a much broader appreciation of the world and its different cultures especially the ways in which everyday people's lives are lived. No way I'd swap with them but an unforgettable life changing experience. You certainly have a more relaxed time in that part of the world if you try to be way more tolerant of things that would boil your blood in the 'west' without necessarily expecting the same in return - and at times I was definitely guilty of that I'm sorry to say, but you learn as you go. I don't know what happened to the King Tut mask - standing face to face with that (and no crowd) at the museum was amazing. Airport officialdom and the notion of customer service are certainly different to the west, but hey, the world consists of a broad church (mosque?) No mentions re the Canadian airlines defacing of his guitar..and that's his home town!
rct
Good luck to Bryan and his commitment to playing there though. I respect that. I'm pretty sure there's ret4rded money involved, there always is when these people go play for the Swamis. rct
