Guest Farnsbarns
That was quite a storm last night. I was up at 1.30am moving outdoor stuff into the garage when it really started building up. Jdgm, there was a lot of rain, hows that bank looking? Hope no one had any serious losses.
fretplay
Yes OK thanks FB. I'm in Hertfordshire and I don't think we got it quite so bad as you. I'm surrounded by trees and that adds to the noise level. Writing here at 2 pm it's sunny but still very windy.
jdgm
Thank you for your concern. The wind was worse here than the rain but anything that was going to blow away went in the last storm! The bank is stable and the retaining wall is finished - see pic taken 3 wks ago - I was hoping to landscape and plant then update everyone, but as I have zero funds left that will take months. I've tidied up since this pic but it won't look good until more topsoil is put on and gradiented - won't be going all the way up either. I need about 5 tons they say..... Best wishes. I need about 5 tons they say..... Best wishes. Pity I hadn't known last year jd as finally after some 20 years of saying I was going to do it I sorted my (very) small garden out. But that still involved getting rid of at least 10 tons of earth! I missed the original thread on this but it looks as if you had a landslip. Pesh
Lost 3 fence panels, and the posts of the remaining ones will need to be re-dug. Lost a small tree, and the shed roofing felt was shredded off the top, so a leaky shed!
Retired
Wow, that crane looks hopeless. Awile back we had one that collapsed and hit the street below. Glad we weren't downtown when it hit. Guess it hit some cars.
