duluthdan
26 inch scale ! $80,000 USD. Wow. I have never run across that caliber guitar before. Most recent vintage Martin I ran into was an old D-45, with a price of $55,000. I didn't even feel comfortable in the same room as that guitar. George Gruhn is THE guy, would love to meet him someday.
E-minor7
Nice little SJ-200 lecture from mister George Gruhn - wished he had strummed them a bit more. One thing struck : The Emmylou Harris pictures in the memorabilia-section don't seem to be the blonde 200 in the shown trio (not too convincing). Would like to have a 1 on 1 chat with this gentleman. Imagine he knows a lot about first wave squares. Fx when did what I call the Indian stripe appear on the back of the Doves and Birds. Anyone here who knows ? Hep for posting JCV. These kinds of videos - especially with dinosaurs like G.G. - are precious.

I've only played one of the early, rosewood, very long scale SJ-200s. An amazing guitar. George is a good friend. If we ever visit Nashville together, I'll make the introductions (and get you upstairs to play the good stuff).

D Big Daddy M
Late to this game, but I want to point out to all the people saying they wish they could talk to George...YOU CAN! I do all the time. He works 6 days a week at Gruhn's. Go to Nashville (I live in Nashville) and talk to him. One thing I can guarantee, he will not live forever. However I can confirm he is still alive and kicking and works there daily!
Hall
Thank you, Juan. I appreciated that one!
zombywoof
Once upon a time George used to put out some really interesting newsletters. I love and respect the guy. But those who have manned booths at any of the large guitar shows will have stories to tell. If you have anything he is interested in he will pick your guitar to pieces in an attempt to get it for as low a price as he can.
