MissouriPicker
The University of Mary Washington has a lecture series titled "Great Lives." Real interesting stuff if you're into the history of influential people. Bob Hope, Oliver Cromwell, FDR, Women Spies of The Civil War, and numerous other people who have influenced our lives and many of them became legends. These lectures (filled with pics and videos) run for 90 minutes and more. Here's their tale on Johnny Cash. Gives a real human perspective on his life. The good and the bad. Covers how he was never really able to get his father's approval, how his family lived the lowliest of existence during The Great Depression and how it formed his opinion of himself as "not good enough," how all of the negative influenced his life and songwriting. Really an honest look at Cash and how legends grow and how the subject of the legend has to live in it. Good story, if you've got the time. There's a reason legends are legends, and it goes beyond the music and hit songs. http://www.umw.edu/greatlives/lecture/johnny-cash/
