MissouriPicker
This is a super thread. Not only has BlindBoy's performance inspired many of us, it's also perhaps opened the door to John Prine's music for many. This song was performed in a "John Prine" fashion and that speaks volumes for BlindBoy doing things his own way, yet totally expressing the feelings and intentions of the song......Here's a great interview with Prine that tends to revolve around the writing of "Hello in There." I think it gives some great insight into who Prine is and why so many of us (like BlindBoy) are drawn to his music. Real good advice for songwriters too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TBLtCrOlPE
MorrisrownSal
MP that was awesome. It is sad to see the challenges he is working through, but... It's a triumph of a songwriter spirit how he endures and embodies truth... To himself. I love how he closes this segment... He would rather go out and get a hot dog than write a song he didn't like. blindboygrunt
Thanks for sharing that MP , I'd never seen that little film Anyone who owns an acoustic guitar needs to listen to a little prine , a proper songwriting legend .
