Would love to hear from anyone who has ever tried one of these.

The Dimarzio Super Distortion Tele shape.....NOT a humbucker mod, but the true tele shape in a super D.

Anyone have any experience with these?

No but very close.

I had a Duncan Hot Rails which I installed in the bridge pos on my Tele back in the ???late 80s I think.

I took it out fairly soon - it was like putting super huge wide racing tyres on the rear wheels of your car, put the whole thing out of whack IMO.

Would have been ok if I had replaced the neck pup with something equally hot (which would have meant hb routing at the time).

Also Hot Rails however powerful did not quite have that single coil zing and super treble.

My Tele - neck pup is rewound a bit hotter than stock, about 6.3 or something. Sounds great.

Otherwise original wiring, previous owner added 2-way toggle switch for out-of-phase in mid position which has a toothy sound almost like a Strat.

I use Duncan Vintage Stacks in my Tele, and I'm about to put one in my Esquire. I've put almost everything in a Tele, but not the Dimarzio. This is the second set of Duncan Stacks in this Tele in 20 years!

Totally kidding of course! I actually like neck position humbuckers in Teles - and I just use a hot Tele single coil... like 10k hot. But if I had more than a couple of them, I'd try a humbucker in the bridge position... why not? Though I've never been a Dimarzio guy.

The one you are looking at is 13.2k and looks to be very bass heavy (their own stats). It is split-able if you wanted some twang out of it. And like all Dimarzios it comes in lots of colors. [biggrin]

Yes, I've been looking at some of the others.....tone zone, Duncan rails, little 59, etc.........

I PROMISE, it will at least be black like the stock one............no Dimarzio neon colors for me......lol.
