Rhys Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Hi! I have a Gibson SG Special with a broken tailpiece. The strings have actually sawn through the metal after a number of months from being setup with top wrapping and D'addario gauge 11's by a guitar shop. I was wondering if you could perhaps tell me the part number/name as there seem to be a few different ones e.g PTTP-010/015 for my particular model. My guitar was made in 2004 in the Nashville plant. Please let me know if you require any other details, I would like to get a tailpiece as clsoe to the original as I can. Any help would be greatly appreciated :). Cheers, Rhys
Zentar Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Two piece bridge and tail piece or one? I'm trying to figure out how a tail piece could be sawn in half by strings. The lightest tail piece I know of for ABR1 Nashville style is the Faber aluminum nickle coated. Weighs 1.1 oz. $46
btoth76 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hello and welcome to the Forums. I am surprised to hear that a couple of months of top-wrapping can make such a damage. If You still want Your guitar that way, the Faber Titanium stopbar will take that abuse: http://www.faberusa.com/product-category/faber-tailpieces/faber-titanium-tailpieces/ Bence.
