JRAD Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I recently acquired this LP Deluxe in trade for a US Strat - my first Gibson, and so far I couldn't be happier. Now the neck plate clearly says 'Deluxe' - however this 2012 does not have mini-humbuckers, but rather full size ones. There are push-pull pots on both volumes. I read that the vintage Deluxes were available with full size HBs by special order, and stumbled across a post Somewhere of a similar guitar and the owner said that he had obtained it from Guitar Center. The serial number checks out, but obviously gives no model details - 114620560. Is this an unusual version? I am having a hard time determining the difference between this, and say a typical Studio model other than the Deluxe badge.
btoth76 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Hello and welcome to the Forums. Well, I know how confusing Gibson model designations can be...that's a Studio Deluxe. It was offered both with 50s and 60s style neck profiles. 50s Deluxe: http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-50s.aspx 60s Deluxe: http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-60s-Exclusive.aspx Best wishes... Bence
