glider Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 just picked up a 2001 Gibson WM-45. This is the second one i have purchased. What an awesome guitar, nice clear base and mids, comfortable neck and scale length.. real happy with it!
BigKahune Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 . Yes. Working Man are nice guitars. Jesse started a thread a coupla weeks ago on a WM-00 - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/130919-ngd-wm-00-did-i-get-ripped-off/ Congrats on your 2nd WM-45. . . B) .
Pittgibson45 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 I would love to love one, but they are hard to find. So, I got an Epiphone masterbuilt AJ. It is nice, but not short scale, not braced the same, and not a Gibson. Then I got a J 35 which is a lot closer to a working man 45. When one does pop up somewhere they usually are going for around the price of a new J 35. If I could go back in time and get one I would, but I am pretty happy with the J 35 compromise.
bobouz Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Nice guitars. I purchased two of them new - both the early version with a satin finish, and the later model with a gloss finish. Can't recall why I let the first one go, but the second WM-45 was part of a trade for an ES-335. Couldn't stand being without a slope-shouldered Gibson for very long, so happily picked up a used 2002 J-45 Rosewood about a year later, which I still have.
Motherofpearl Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I also owned one. Great guitar for the money!
