bayoubengal1954 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 On the long thread describing my odyssey of acquiring a beat up '48 J-50 I had posted a track with some instrumental messing around. On this track I thought it may be interesting to capo up the neck and sing a tune. It's Steve Earle's "Ft. Worth Blues". The strings are getting a bit worn enough to now project that "Gibson" tone (at least to me ). This is just using an early generation Zoom H4 with the internal mics. I don't have any fancy recording equipment! https://soundcloud.com/nolamericana/ste-010
MorrisrownSal Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 What a wonderful version of a great tribute to TVZ. I love your tempo in this Pat. Great guitar, great playing, and sad but beautiful song.
Avery Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Very nicely done, that sounded great. Â That guitar sure has got a very nice tone, and I like your vocal delivery on this one; it really fits the mood of the song.
blindboygrunt Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Nice job It's one I do myself , just love the lyrics . Â Check out on YouTube Steve Earle playing this and Nancy Griffith can't hold back the tears for Townes . Very moving
EuroAussie Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Really nice vibe on that tune, the guitars and vocals sounded tasty and lazy .... just what this track neeed ...
EuroAussie Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Nice job It's one I do myself , just love the lyrics . Â Â Â I was actually thinking to myself that I can totally imagine you doing this BBG ...... and you do.
rustystrings Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Great song, lovely performance, and seriously consider a set of .012-.054 John Pearse Pure Nickel acoustic strings the next time you change them.
jdd707 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Good choice of songs ... good pickin' ............ nice vocals. A winner. Thanks of sharing.
