Jonwil86 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Hi I want to buy my first les paul model. Does anyone know when the new models will be hitting the stores here in Europe. I really want to try out the 'inspired by 1955' model but, it only shows up on the Andertons site as a pre-order. Also want to try out the new les paul traditional II in dessert burst. Last question... how fast do limited edition models run out. I really want to try them out before buying but, it would be a bummer if they would sell out before they even hit the stores. Best regards

Best regards The only way to know the answer to your first question is to ask somebody at Epiphone. And they may not know. In regards to your second question, nobody knows the answer to that. They run out when people stop buying them and they decide to stop making them. There is no set time.

I know there isn't a set time but i just asked the question in case retailers are on this forum and maybe they could share the experience of selling these limited edition models. someone who works in a music store may know that in general limited edition sell out fairly quickly or not ... same goes for the first question and maybe people that keep track of epiphone guitar models know when the new models get released. they always get presented at shows like Namm or summer namm so i'm guessing not to long after those shows but i just wanted a little more information. You can only ask...

They sell out when they stop making them. And they will not stop making them until they stop selling; as I previously stated. The "Limited Edition" moniker is just a ploy to make people, like yourself, think they need to hurry up and buy one before they are all gone. Believe me, if they are selling, they will make more.

This is true MOST of the time, but there are some exceptions. Off the top of my head I'm thinking of stuff like the 61 Casino reissue, 62 Sheraton reissue, Ace Frehly LP, and those 345's and 355's. I think they were selling quite well for the most part and then they were gone. I have no idea if the guitar in question will follow along those lines or be like my "Limited Edition" P93 Riviera that I bought 6 years ago.
Matt4356 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I ordered my union jack sheraton in the feb 2014 with estimated delivery of april, it was delivered to me the end of october 2014. They were 'limited edition'and stil are in the shop that still get them in now and my 2010 'limited edition' dot studio thats still also available. Usually if its not a numbered run like the 1962 sheraton model, it just keeps going for quite a while. Seriously though there are soooooo many les paul versions available i doubt there will be much real difference between the new release and the currently available. My advise would be to try some now and if you find one you like great, if not then wait, you will eventually and it will be worth it! Good luck!
SG player Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 How much ? 800 - 900 €uros ? Have a look to an ebony Gibson Les Paul Studio + a set of Gibson P94
kidblast Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 don't let the words "Limited Edition" sway you. there's a lot of guitars that come with that label slapped on them, but there's nothing "limited" about it. my Swingerster Royale that bought several years ago, are still being offered by epi today.
Supersonic Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Have a look to an ebony Les Paul Studio + a set of Gibson P94 Why would he do that when it comes with Gibson USA P90s??
Jonwil86 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Why would he do that when it comes with Gibson USA P90s?? Yeah that's the reason i was looking to try out that one. and i think the overal build quality will be the same as an gibson studio les paul... you also get a nice case with it whilst with the studio you pay the same price, no p90s and no case ... and if I would go for a cheaper les paul model by gibson it would be the les paul 2016 60s series with the gibson p90s

Matt4356 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 So, assuming he's in the UK as he mentioned Andertons. Gibson les paul studio 2016 t £650 (with rosewood board) Gibson p94 set £180 OR Epiphone les paul 1955 WITH gibson p90 £615 (with ebony board) But you must be correct, I'm sure the price difference is worth it. Surely the (probably Chinese made) CNC machines in the Gibson factory interpret the program in a better way and cut the wood soooooo much better (exotic woods? Yep!) And surely the machine cut product is better assembled in the US because how could a Chinese production line worker be as good as an American (Mexican?) Seriously, i doubt very much the difference between a top end epi and a base gibson is noticeable, if anything most people would prefer the looks of the epi on the two guitars in question, and most people don't know or care that gibson are 'better' by default. If you were saying save and get a gib standard or custom then that's different completely.
Pete B Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Nice looking guitar but needs work, stripping off the nitro and applying a coat of poly
