capmaster Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Since several years I own two 2011 L6S remakes, one each with Antique Natural and Silverburst finishes, either with chrome hardware. The Gibson model code of the first is DSL6ANCH1, that of the latter DSL6TSBCH1. While AN seems common to denote Antique Natural, TSB for Silverburst came to me as some surprise. I would have expected SLB as usual. An SG of mine bears TSB in her code for Tobacco Sunburst. To avoid confusion with SB saying Sunburst, Gibson basically chose SLB for Silverburst I think, but why TSB for the Silverburst 2011 L6S? Can the experts around here please help to clear this up?
BigKahune Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 . I'm no expert, but am familiar with model numbers. That does seem odd. Usually with a LP the "T" is associated with "Traditional". In other models (SG, ES) the "T" is associated with other things. Regarding finishes, the "T" is sometimes associated with "Transparent" finishes. Is your Silver Burst a transparent finish you can see the grain and figuring through, if any? If so, maybe Trans-SilverBurst. .

btoth76 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Hello. What if "T" stands for "Torrefied", as this version of the L6S has such a fretboard? Bence.
