BluesKing777 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Having fun with my 1959 LG3 and I pressed record for a version of T Bone Walker and his 'Stormy Monday" https://soundcloud.com/bk7-3/stormymonday777 BluesKing777.
Buc McMaster Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Gee. Can't imagine why you're called BluesKing........makes no sense to me! Very well done, sir! Good blues tone from the guitar, excellent transitional chording, nice riffing. And your voice is perfect for this kind of work. Bravo!
kidblast Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Can't imagine why you're called BluesKing.... I know, right? I've played this song, maybe 8,000,000 times.... never get tired of it.. That's a nice cut of that classic you did there BK!!
MissouriPicker Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 That is absolutely superb. Even the stuff I've been doing in the studio couldn't be "doctored-up" enough to be on the same planet with your playing. I ALWAYS enjoy hearing your music.
BluesKing777 Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Thanks for those very nice replies! Though I did take the name of Blues King from buying my Gibson Blues King L-00 - I am not the king of anything! But thanks anyway! I keep expecting to wake up one morning and my 1959 LG3 has been re-valued to the same as the 59 Les Pauls!!!!! Probably has the same neck. And a great sound to boot. It can get a bit 'bright' with certain strings and I took the bone pins I had on it off and put the original 'plastiques' back in when I put some Elixir PBs on ..... BluesKing777.
MissouriPicker Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Even if you're not "king," you deserve your own castle and land, some peasants, sheep, wenches.
BluesKing777 Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 Even if you're not "king," you deserve your own castle and land, some peasants, sheep, wenches. [blink] Like Keef!!!! Thanks MP - I thought of you the other night - I record these lifestyle shows and watch them later to skip the ads - Friday nights, a Lifestyle Channel has them all in a row (probably a few years old): Beachfront Bargain Hunt, Lakeside Bargain Hunt and Island Bargain Hunt. No Castle Bargain Hunt, but the Lakefront B H were in the lakes of central Missouri - many, many little lakes all looked very pleasant, and they found the family in the show a nice little place with jumping rope in to the lake, jetty for boat, sand beach because the woman didn't like the lake grass. After a couple of beach shack holidays, we always look at the classic shack on stilts on a sand hill ( saw one show set in Galveston ), but that lake front shack wasn't too bad, not too bad at all - prefer that to the castle actually..................................and the dog just wants a balcony to watch out for other dogs....
