Wow Sal.......what did you do your your hand?! On the mend, I hope...... A Chris Isaak tune I'd not heard. Good job with this one, not to mention the persistence to work through injury.

Yes, a very nice take on this one. Nice hearing your voice on this one, as it has a different sound than Chris Isak's. I liked the contrast.

Now you need a J-200 with your name painted on it, just like Chris.

I can relate a little to the left hand woes. I broke my left index finger several years ago, and it still gives me a little trouble if I play too long.

Thanks guys. I am pretty sure I broke one or two fingers. They hurt and don't bend right, and I should have gotten them set properly. Oh well! I'll break them again!

Hope you are all enjoying your summers.

I like the song, and your rendition of it, nice, clear and powerful..

I don't like hearing you injured your hand... I hope you heal well Sal.

Thanks Ray... Getting older and slowing down sucks!

Indeed.

Nice, Sal.

I broke my left arm pretty bad years ago, but I was in my 40's which is old to be breaking things. Got 5 screws and a steel plate. Supination was almost an issue, but the Dr. knew I was a guitar player and did great.

I still wear the guitar high because of it.

Be careful !

A fine and competent deliverance - always reassurring to hear people bein' into the songs they choose.

And that steady right hand is, , , , well just right. Best of luck to the left.

Btw, how are things with the adj. CW ?

Thanks Em7...

Regarding the CW, last night I did a few things. I swapped the tusq saddle for a bone one I ordered (as per advice on one of the threads here. I also changed strings to Curt Mangan PBs, but I wish I put on the sunbeams I also have. The CMs have much more tension (to me anyways). It sounds great though, and PBs sound much better suited to the CW than the Martin Retros I had on. Sunbeams next. I also think I need to get some sandpaper and sand the bottom of the saddle a tad to lower the action more than the low setting the adjustable saddle is already set at.

I also changed the strings on my J50 to sunbeams. Perfect match as well. Or maybe I just sometimes like PB over monel, and vice versa.

So a serious step 2 is launched ^ yes, it's in the script to try at least the bone insert.

Don't forget to tell us about the sonic differences.

This is as intriguing as it is nerdy territory, , , and one of my personal favourite topics.

Nice and smooth Sal, steady right hand is the key and you drive it well. Haven't heard that song but I do wicked game in my solo set which goes down we'll with the punters.

Another nerd standing by - would like to try bone in the J-50, but don't really want to order the thing until I hear from a couple folks who've installed one. So far it's had wood, Tusq, an unglazed ceramic, and now it's back to the original glazed ceramic which sounds the best to me.
