peteLPstudio Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I saw an unusual looking "Les Paul" yesterday. The headstock had the standard Gibson logo but above the logo was "the" in small letters and below the logo "musical instrument company" in small letters. I have googled Gibson headstocks until I am blind and can't find one like it. Does anyone here recognize this or is it a fake?

BigKahune Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 . It's probably genuine, from Gibson's Sonex value based guitars from the 80s - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_Sonex There have been threads on the solid bodies and acoustics. Google "Gibson Sonex" - https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=gibson%20sonex .
ksdaddy Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Wouldn't surprise me to see that logo on any of the inexpensive bolt on 80s Gibsons...Sonex, Challenger, Invader... Cheap guitars that kick butt.
