Pinch
EMG-60 neck pickup, so I guess it's basically a replica of Hetfield's old workhorse from the mid- to late 80s.
Thunderhorse71
EMG-60 neck pickup, so I guess it's basically a replica of Hetfield's old workhorse from the mid- to late 80s. Except for "not even close" to Hetfield's old workhorse, YOU BET...same style! ;)
Pinch
Really? Wasn't it a stock white Explorer? I know the ESPs came later.
Pinch
Stock except for the EMG 60/81, that is.
Johnny 6 String
Really? Wasn't it a stock white Explorer? I know the ESPs came later. Yeah it was a stock '76 type Explorer with the EMGs, so it had the pick guard and straight line config for the controls. He did favour the white though, he had both Explorers and Vees in white. Johnny 6 String
I stand corrected Wow getting old sucks, not what I remember at all....couldn't count the number of times I saw them from Kill Em All to And Justice. I remember this My link and totally remembered the explorer being identical. Could have sworn his explorer didn't get the smoothed out look until the ESPs. Thanks Johnny
DoomPatrol
Besides coming stock with the EMG's the reissue has a mahogany body instead of an alder body. The reissue has a mahogany neck rather than the originals maple neck. Interestingly, the reissue has a ebony fretboard rather than the originals rosewood fretboard. One must question whether this is really a reissue. Still a cool guitar, IMHO.
