BluesKing777 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Looks like a Charlie Patton lovers fingerpicking dream - new Waterloo models based on old Stellas! Pretty cool, thanks Mr Collings. (And spacings exactly as I like too!) http://waterlooguitars.com/wl-s-deluxe/ BluesKing777.
jedzep Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 You buying? I know it's winter 'blues' time down under. Your recent sound clips are awesome.
BluesKing777 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 You buying? I know it's winter 'blues' time down under. Your recent sound clips are awesome. Thanks JZ. If I bought another guitar, it would have to live in the car! With me, probably...and dog... It would be almost double that price by the time it got here through Customs, Fedex etc, and frankly, for that price I would want a Collings name on it and not a Waterloo made up name. They look cool though! Speaking of cool, it is winter blues here and I love it! I have snow clothes! For walking the Hound. And the screamers in their pools have gone quiet. BluesKing777.
BluesKing777 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 And while we are on other makes' retro guitars, how cool is the new Martin 17 series? They just added pickups to the range. You could have a whole room full of 'tuxedo' black guitars these days - old L-00. reissue L-00, Martin 17, Waterloo Kalamazoo reissue..... http://www.elderly.com/martin-00l-17e-black-smoke-guitar-with-pickup-case.htm BluesKing777.
jedzep Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Hoho. I'm busy trying to quell the self-loathing from buying back the 5-15.
62burst Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 It's no secret that Mr BK777 has a thing for the little ol' wooden boxes. But please, Mr. Martin- To thine own self be true. One helluva payback for some new-fangled Gibson called a Hummingbird that had some things in common with a D-18. Maybe a TeleMartin. Or perhaps a MarTaylor? I hope all is well in Nazareth. . . . And the screamers in their pools have gone quiet. BluesKing777. One of the best parts of winter: the quiet.
BluesKing777 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 One of the best parts of winter: the quiet. In Johnny Winter type yell: "Rain ON!" BluesKing777.

Rambler Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Im sure it is wonderful but for similar $$ you could acquire a handmade Fraulini or Hauver.
scriv58 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 i have the waterloo wl-14x and a hauver blind blake model both great guitars and only $100 difference between the two when i purchased, but i bought the hauver in used condition, the waterloo is still quite green, just got it two weeks ago.
