Rambler Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 Yours truly laying down Blind Blake's Chump Man Blues on my J35fvg ('s a phone video, so the sound is not A1).
62burst Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 'Would love to check it out, but have finally pulled the plug on Facebook. Any chance of a SoundCloud, or YouTube link?
scriv58 Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 same here, would like to hear it, but am not going to sign up for facefart
MorrisrownSal Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Rambler, I'm on The Facebook... But can't find the video. I'd love to watch it...
Rambler Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Sal, scroll down past the concert clips. Everyone else, Ive contacted them who shot it. Hopefully will track a copy to re-post.
Red 333 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Rambler, I think you have provided a link to your profile, and due to your privacy settings, only those with a Facebook account can access it. One would then have to search through all your stuff to find it. If you look in the settings of the video itself, you will see you can copy a direct link to the video, the way you would post a video from YouTube or Vimeo. Just make sure the audience for the video is set to Public. I wish I could provide you with step by step instructions, but I'm away from my computer and posting from my phone. However, if you Google "share Facebook video link" or Facebook's help section you will find them. I'd love to hear your FVG J-35 in action. Red 333 EDITED. Finally.
62burst Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 I'don't love to hear your FVG J-35 in action. Red 333 Best typo/auto-correct of the week. Of that I am just American sure.
Red 333 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Stupid phone! I finally figured out how to edit a post after the fact using my mobile. Hopefully it makes more sense now! Red 333
62burst Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Stupid phone! And stupid user. You can't edit a post on the mobile version of this site...ugh. Hardly the stupid user, Red- we've all seen and love the video production skills of your Christmas videos. Inspiring. Do you do that sort of thing professionally? Envious, here. As to the ability to edit on the Gibson board, about a year ago, I noticed that there was also a button displayed (then) at the bottom of the page, possibly marked "Full Site" or some such thing. That enables more functionality for mobile devices; allowing zoom, and all editing features. Take a look around your page for it. Rambler- sorry for the potential derail. . . just killing time waiting for that link ; ) .
Murph Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I've never had a facebook acct. Put it on youtube or soundcloud.
Rambler Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 Here's a new link to the video. Let me know if we are getting somewhere...
blindboygrunt Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Worked for me rambler Good stuff , give bluesking a run for his money What amp is that you're using ? Mind you , I'm not ever really playing to a crowd who sit and listen . Hope you share more stuff . Liked that a lot
Rambler Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 " Worked for me rambler" Great! Good stuff , give bluesking a run for his money" Thanks but no threat to B with a 6-string. A little sloppy joe on some of the runs. "What amp is that you're using ?" It's a Crate 125 solid state 1/12 acoustic amp. Gain and MV like on 3 (the national roars through that thing). " Mind you , I'm not ever really playing to a crowd who sit and listen" Could be. I'd sit and listen.
MorrisrownSal Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Finally I see! Nice job Jon. Great intro too. It looks like they were hanging on your words and your song. Agree with Grunt... Post more!
62burst Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 One week- way to build the suspense! Worth it, though. Sounds like you were knockin' em dead in the library with the pre-song chatter. Guitar sounds very natural- how was this recorded? Glad that no piezos were excited in the making of this recording. Love the 'burst. Do you usually sit the guitar that far out on your leg or did you have a sandwich in your pocket? Enjoyed it.
Rambler Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Guitar sounds very natural- how was this recorded? Glad that no piezos were excited in the making of this recording. Do you usually sit the guitar that far out on your leg The '35 has a K&K. Ran it through the amp for a clean sound, no effects. All recorded with a smart phone. And yeh, that's where the guitar hangs, kind of like having a strap.
jt Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Jon, Fabulous! I've tried many a time to master Blind Blake's "sportin' right hand" and have never gotten nearly as close as have you. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Rambler Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed. JT, that was a big encouragement.
Trans Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Sorry guys but I am stump on this J35fvg? FVG?? Sounds really good!
Red 333 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 FVG=Fuller's Vintage Guitar. Fuller's is a guitar dealer in Houston, TX, and is the biggest Gibson Acoustic dealer in the US, I believe. Rambler's model is a guitar made especially for them: The Fuller's Vintage Guitar 1939 J-35 Reissue. Red 333
