B1ues Boy Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 What these two gentlemen found was the same as as me I've had my Gibson for over a year now and I've made a few upgrades New Locking tuners with white buttons a firestripe pickguard and the largest jumbo frets made today a good setup with bone saddle and nut and new Western Mini pickup
EuroAussie Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Thanks for sharing good comparisement. Consistent how ive been hearing these guitars. Thought the J-15 had the most appealing tone, especially with a thicker pick and with fingers. The J-29 sounds rather stiff and a bit metallic while the J-35 quite thin and light sounding, liacking in the bass registers.

Any pics of your J-15 with the new tuners and pickguard?
blindboygrunt Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 There's very little mention of the j29's in here.
MissouriPicker Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Of these particular guitars, I'd also go with the J15. I don't have a J35, but I do have a J15 and J29 and I favor the J15 of those two. Both are easy-on-the-fingers, but I like the tone and look of the J15 better.
