duluthdan Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 A few times a year I travel back to Minnesota, and almost always include a stop at Willies Vintage Guitars. Today I was sorely tempted, but I persevered some how. There are 2 J-35s on this wall, a natural 1941 J-35, just right of lower center in this pic, and a 1930s J-35 3rd guitar to the left of the '41. It has 3 Tone Bars, and sounded oh so throaty and sublime, an outstanding guitar. The 1941 is articulate, loud and light. Sadly to pay for these I would probably have to sell my wife's piano, and her car. But the wise side of valor says that would probably not be a good thing to do. At the moment...
Boyd Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 What is the one at the top left? Looks like a J-50 with volume control knobs!
duluthdan Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 1968 'bird and the other is sunburst mid 60s J-45 modified I think. I rarely pull anything off that top row, so afraid I'll knock things.
kidblast Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 wow would ya look at those beautiful Taylors! how'd those get in there huh? LOL!

duluthdan Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 I'll have the lovely one bottom centre between the two pictures ( is that a 45 or a J50 ) lovely looking collection 1954 J-50. Yep that was great sounding too.
dhanners623 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 As someone who lived in St. Paul for 20 years, I can attest Willie's is a great shop. Great inventory, the staff is knowledgable and Nate, the owner, is a class act and knows his stuff. Bought a '66 J-45 there years ago. You can drool here: http://www.williesguitars.com
