btoth76
Hello All! If any of You happen to be in the Central-European region, it's worth visiting the events of the Zempléni festival, 12-21th of August. The programme will be full of classical and jazz concerts of international performers. More about it here: http://www.zemplenifesztival.hu/english/ Bence. C-RAM
Bence, I know I'm an idiot, but - whenever I see photos of Old World architecture like that, and it's your part of the world (Hungary, Romania), the first thing that springs to my mind is: Vampires. I think I see one peering out of one of those darkened stone portals - I can't help it - blame it on my misspent youth watching Hammer Film matinees on Saturday afternoons... Back On Topic: I would brave a vampire or two if I had an opportunity to see and hear Horváth Kornél in concert!
btoth76
Hello. No problems with that. :) I think, we all think by stereotypes of places we do not know well. Especially, when it comes to small places in a far away corner of the world, like Hungary. That's why I am posting about my country, time to time. In hope, it gets known better. Because, as small as it is, it's full of treasures. Vampires, - in fact - are not part of the Hungarian culture. They became associated with Transylvania, which was part of Hungarian Kingdom until 1920. Today, it's part of the Romanian state. However, vampires are not part of the Romanian folklore either. The western literature placed those creatures into the mystical locations of the beautiful Transylvania, based on the figure of Vlad Tepes. Best wishes... Bence.
