Sorry about not noticing what's new in the avatar- I'd commented favorably about it a couple of days back, but that was mostly about it's composition, and my eye naturally goes to the sunburst (even to the Ovation/Adamas) either way.

So- what's new? Something in a natural finish, I suppose.

There is something wrong because that is again the old avatar, which should have been gone. I'll try to get it right, the new one is a Hummingbird [thumbup] I traded in my Martin OM21 which wasn't getting played very much. The Hummingbird simply was too good not to get it.

Congrats on "the bird." Mine is a biased opinion, but in all honesty the Gibson Hummingbird is "the" guitar to get. There are certainly many great guitars out there (Martin, Collings, Gibson, Taylor, numerous small builders, etc.), but to me a Gibson Hummingbird tends to stand alone. And "Yes," I'm very aware of AJs, J45s, super jumbos, Martin dreads, and Collings, McPherson and so on. All I'm saying is that there is only one guitar for me that sums-up everything a guitar is supposed to represent and be...The Gibson Hummingbird is that guitar. All others are "pretenders to the throne." Just my view. [thumbup]

I change my avatar a couple of months ago. It took a couple of weeks to 'take' for some reason. I must have forgot to hit "Save" or "Enter' or "Do you want cash back?

But - the important thing is - you are now a card carrying member of an exclusive club. Folks who have always wanted an H'Bird and finally got one !

Let us know how your H'Bird compares to your others. Many of us find there is no comparison !

Thanks all for the kind replies.

MissouriPicker and fortyyearspickn: Comparing to my other guitars this one really is special. And again I witnessed the same as with my J45. There was a Vintage in the shop which simply wasn't a match to my standard (which by the way has 2017 stamped on the back of the headstock). It is hard to describe the sound of this guitar it is sparkling, open and yet warm, notes are beautifully defined and she plays like butter. The Vintage was moody and somewhat dead sounding. Couldn't be happier, my shop gave me a really good price for the OM21 which I traded in.

62burst: I'll soon post pictures, it's a lovely golden burst

kelly campbell: Absolutely, haven't put it down yet (... well except to go to sleep)

Cheers, Bob
