BluesKing777 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Any Soundseat users here? http://www.soundseat.com/ BluesKing777.
MorrisrownSal Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I have one in my home office. I love it. It is well made, functional, comfortable, and I endorse. His family runs the show nowadays. I bought mine a few years ago when he was still alive. RIP
MorrisrownSal Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 1471479460[/url]' post='1792279']Can it be lowered enough to tap your foot? Yes sir. Telescopes with a nice range... The bigger problem is to not tap your foot like Steve Martin in The Jerk.
mountainpicker Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Sal, do you think the higher back version makes a lot of difference and does it really contact your back that high up? I'm about to pull the trigger on one and I'm on the fence about which height of back to go with.
BluesKing777 Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Can it be lowered enough to tap your foot? This info is in the 'Soundseat Models" area: Gas lift seats are available in 6 different height adjustments (floor to seat top). Height adjustments are as follows: 70MM - 15 to 17.5 inches 80MM - 16 to 19.5 inches 100MM -17 to 21 inches 140MM - 19.5 to 24 inches 200MM - 20.5 to 28.5 inches 270MM - 25 to 35 inches These measurements are for the standard, Non-BreakDown Models. If ordering a BreakDown Model, speak with J.R. about the height ranges for various gas lifts. All height measurements are unloaded, gas lift will compress slightly when you sit. In the comments section of the order form, let us know what range you need so we can supply you with the correct gas lift. I am not totally sure what that means, but I guess if my wooden kitchen chair has 18" from floor to top of sitting surface, and I like that height, ordering the gas lift which includes the 100mm - 17 to 21 inches, should cover it nicely...except in the breakdown model???? Correct, Sal? Anybody? BluesKing777.
DennisB643 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I own one (same color as was pictured, the burgandy). Very comfortable seat but I can get it to go low enought. In retrospect, if I had to do it again, I wouldn't have ordered it.
MorrisrownSal Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 I'm not sure what the gas shock telescope range is in on mine; I just know it goes plenty low to rest feet flat on the floor, and tap away. I am 6ft tall. Ask soundseat for a range that matches your height? I also love the high back. When in the midst of long rehearsals, I will occasionally lean back, and it is a welcome feature. Most of the time you are leaning forward, and don't use it. Do you practice for hours at a time? If so, maybe consider high back.
mountainpicker Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Thanks Sal. I do practice for hours at a time and I want it to double as an office and a sewing chair so I think the higher back sounds like the way to go.
blindboygrunt Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Thanks Sal. I do practice for hours at a time and I want it to double as an office and a sewing chair so I think the higher back sounds like the way to go. 😂😂 Briliant
BluesKing777 Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 Thanks Sal. My other gaslift chair broke and I am sitting on a kitchen chair, great for posture! I was thinking red, but probably stay with r&r black, but I like your brown chair too. Is that the 'chestnut'? It is going to cost two arms and legs to get one here, but I have read a lot of good reports for years and the local version looks like a school assembly chair, plus they didn't answer the phone.... They have some interesting stuff online though - check out the orchestra organisational gear. I guess someone has to look after the sheet music!: http://www.wengeraustralia.com.au/html/s13_shopping/default.asp?keyword=Music-Chairs I think the Tuba Tamer could be a good idea for my National Tricone: http://www.wengeraustralia.com.au/html/s13_shopping/view_product.asp?id=51&nav_cat_id=15&nav_top_id=&dsb=179 BluesKing777.
