I have a hard time with Ritchie Blackmore playing the Gibson on "Child in Time." I'm so used to his Stratocaster and him wailing with the tremolo bar ala Highway Star. But, it sounds great!

All the Granada TV footage is cool - what a great show. Glad they captured that stuff. I wish there was more footage out there of FREE. I think I have it all via the FREE Forever DVD, but I can never watch it too many times.

I love all the Free live stuff, and always feel I'm watching 3 incredibly competent guys, ever alert to their enigma on stage left and either guiding him through the rough waters or sliding into his slipstream dependent on the needs of his moment. Great stuff from what may be my favourites of all.

I learned something watching the first one - saw an Orange amp up on top of the Marshalls. I had no idea that Orange amps went that far back: 1970?
