For my money, Dwight Yoakam is one of the better purveyors of barroom honky tonk, at least he was 30 years ago! And by the same measure, this tune didn't seem so difficult when the band ripped it out back in the day. Guess we're both getting older.....and slower.....and less nimble of finger.......shorter of breath........ain't no fixin' it........just got to live with it...... Still, this is one that should be done standing, even if the pins ain't what they used to be! Tomatoes, celery sticks, taters........hurl what you will......I'm hungry anyway!

Buc, i think you and I have such polar opposite tastes in music, i never know what you sing and i often thing its the same vice versa. But for your style what you do is really ideal, the way you play, sing and also the picks you use.

Such things are what makes the world go 'round. I suspect in this case it's generational, guessing you're about half my age. And you know what that means? You've got a lot more years of guitar playing ahead of you than I, and your generation gap has yet to catch up to you!

EDIT: It also occurs to me that regional musical influences are also part of these differences. I'm southern born, steeped in old blues, hillbilly music and early rock n' roll...........and I've been in Texas for near forty years now. Guess it shows.........

Are you steaks massive and you have more guns than guitars Buc ?

Well, my appetite ain't what it used to be so the steaks aren't so large any longer, but yes, I do have more guns than guitars.........and more bullets than picks.
