Rabs Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Check out this thread http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/132290-2017-les-paul/page__pid__1794840#entry1794840 First pics of a 2017 Classic... Nice Grover locking tuners... and they seem to have ditched the switch chip... I find it very odd how shops are stocking them already but no info to be found anywhere... Weird...
Pinch Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 It's weird that you can buy a 2017 model four months ahead of 2017 :P
Rabs Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 It's weird that you can buy a 2017 model four months ahead of 2017 :P Yeah they have been doing that the last few years.. I was telling a non guitarist friend about it last night.. His response was, that means they are probably run by the marketing department.
Johnny 6 String Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 It's weird that you can buy a 2017 model four months ahead of 2017 :P It's the same with cars too, you've been able to buy the next years model in the fall for years now.
Johnny 6 String Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I know. Still. It's all marketing trying to get us excited to be the first on the block with one.
Pesh Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I'd imagine that they can get a good sales boost if they announce and then release the "new year" models before Christmas, too. Makes sense to me. Hankering for a green Classic from this year's selection. The blue Standard is equally beautiful but too expensive now.
