jannusguy2
Wondering if anyone might know if the pick guard on a J200 Jr. would be the same size as the normal size J200? I have found a Jr. I'm considering purchasing but the guard is way shot. Thoughts? Thanks.

jannusguy2
Same design but smaller. So, Fred, it sounds like finding a replacement for it would be tricky, right? Or is it the same size as a J185 pick guard? Or is the J185 pick guard the same size as a J200? Arghh!
Joe M
Just a guess, but I can't see how a replacement guard for the Jr. would be any harder to get from Gibson than any other guard. I've read here, and other forums, that Gibson will sell (or give) replacement guards....or am I way off base???

I was under the impression you have to be the original owner to get a new guard from Gibson. I know there are after market guards but that's where the size question comes in. Again, guessing, but I'm pretty sure you can BUY a replacement guard from Gibson, original owners get a replacement for free, if there's some kind of defect. 62burst
Is the pickguard warped, gouged, or . . . ? Or are the graphics gone?

I think that's the case. They cost a pretty penny to buy, but if you're the original owner and there's some problem, that's another story.
jannusguy2
Is the pickguard warped, gouged, or . . . ? Or are the graphics gone? Not yet seen in person. Graphics gone.. otherwise secure AFAIK...Ideas? Thx!
Joe M
I'd contact Don Ruffato at Gibson. He's helped me several times in the past. He'll give you a straight answer as how to proceed.
bobouz
Just an fyi, the J-185 pick guard does have a significantly different shape, and might fit little Junior to a tee!
