"The Unfortunate Rake" on the '35....

I don't do many covers, mainly because someone else can usually always do them better. But I like this song because it is quirky. Fans of the American folk genre may recognize the tune as "The Streets of Laredo," AKA "The Cowboy's Lament." That song is an American-ization of the old British tune, The Unfortunate Rake," a song about a guy dying of syphillis. I guess in the days before sex education and abstinence education, songs like is helped get across the point of, um, being careful.

I tuned the J-35 down to dropped D and capoed at the third fret, using D, G and A fingerings.

Great job on the song! The guitar sounded crisp and clear! I found out by trial and error that you need to paste the url from your browser and not the youtube share button (you'll see it's much longer) into the media field, then take the "s" out of the https to embed the videos here.

Good point; didn't even think that I copied the url from the address bar by habit.

Great job, man.

I really liked a J-35 when I tried one out...great sound. Sounds great in your recording. Nice singing too.

It took me forever to learn how to embed here. My mistake was that in the copy media box, "http" is already there. So I would be double-copying http that was preset in the box, and the http from the web url. Not to mention, I didn't delete the s. Now I know to have a clear space before I paste...

I've learned this after a period of many months...I guess I'm not all that tech savvy.
