(Sorry about all the threads today, just a few questions)

Hey guys, after looking around websites like Guitar Center ect. None show Standards in Vintage expect for a Antique Vintage Sunburst with 57 Classic Humbuckers? But a shop here in Australia says you can get Standards in this colour and Ive seen pics of them, someone on the forums even has one.

So why doesnt Gibson show them on their website or admit to making them? (Ive asked them, they say they dont.)

Can anyone help?

Just found out that they come in Tobacco Burst' date=' like yours Stoof. i dont know what happened to Vintage Sunburst? Some one here on the forums had pics of one, maybe the retailer got the name wrong?[/quote']

Tobacco Sunburst is also referred to as Vintage Sunburst (same color just different name for it-not a listing error). I understand that Gibson is referring to it as Vintage Sunburst now because Gibson is trying to get away from the whole Tobacco thing (for obvious reasons). This has been talked about on one of the other forums I am a member of but I don't recall which one exactly. Hope this helps...

Thank god obvious reasons dont apply to me...

Why because of Smokers ect? Ive got a good name lined up for mine.."Smokey" Love it or Hate it? Or "Luckey" because I was so luckey to find this colour still made (Gibson dont have it on there website, anyone know why?) And because of mah pet Cocketiel Luckey hehe.

So why do Gibson wanna get away from the name and why dont they list any type of this colour on there website?

Ya I think its probably because of what tobacco does to people over time (Lung Cancer-Pretty ugly situation). I'm not sure why Vintage Burst isn't on their site as one of the finish options (I have also wondered the same). I didn't know Vintage Burst Standards were being made until a few years after I got my Iced Tea Standard. A guy on a forum I am a member of bought one and sent it to Gibson and had it signed by Slash. Apparently he knew someone who worked at Gibson and shipped the guitar to the Gibson factory and his buddy made sure it was signed by Slash. I believe I saved a picture of the guys guitar. If I find it I'll definately post it....
