Naaah. It's a great trivia question.

Let us be lovers,

We'll marry our fortunes together.

I've got some real estate

Here in my bag.

So we bought a pack of cigarettes,

And Mrs. Wagner's pies,

And walked off

To look for America.

"Kathy", I said,

As we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh,

Michigan seems like a dream to me now.

It took me four days

To hitch-hike from Saginaw.

"I've come to look for America."

Laughing on the bus,

Playing games with the faces,

She said the man in the gabardine suit

Was a spy.

I said, "Be careful,

His bow tie is really a camera."

"Toss me a cigarette,

I think there's one in my raincoat."

We smoked the last one

So I looked at the scenery,

She read her magazine;

And the moon rose over an open field.

"Kathy, I'm lost", I said,

Though I knew she was sleeping.

"I'm empty and aching and

I don't know why."

Counting the cars

On the New Jersey Turnpike

They've all come

To look for America,

All come to look for America,

All come to look for America.

You may want FB and I to tell...

You might think that swell...

But the answer is there to see,

just look carefully.

It will come to you in time

the uniqueness sublime.

If after this you still cant get it,

no worries - you're smart enough for our Senate.

I dont care about the hidden meanings, but rather how good does that Hummingbird sound? I reckon its ageing and developing by the week. Very few warts if any really, and even if there is something that guitar more than makes up for any human errors.

A little free time this morning... and actually later I am going to Michigan to visit my middle son and take him out to dinner and hang...

This is Simon and Garfunkel's America. And yeah... warts... Sorry Hogeye!

Just the kind of stuff I spend most of my listening time with. I like this, Sal. Very real, easy-on-the-ears, gentle, and sung as if you wrote the song. One of the many things I like about your music is that you are "you." Enjoyed it, my friend. Always do.

Also, was away for 24hours or so. Did I miss something? "This is Simon and Garfunkel's America. And yeah... warts... Sorry Hogeye!" Got a similar vibe from Buc's thread on a gig he was working-on. Anyway, good performance.

Nevermind, found the comments someone made. I figure screw them and the horse they rode in on. Life is too short to get bogged down in that crap.......Yes, a Hummingbird is nice to hide behind. Still human errors, so long as a song is played adequately, make a song real. To me, a "slick and polished" song (especially with a band) can sound unauthentic, not real, too smooth, and it can be done with software. I like watching a performance like much of what I see on here. The bumps and warts are part of who we are..........Still haven't found what's different about this song.
