sylond
Hello there, I own a L5 ct, natural. I bought used a couple of years ago. It has a single mounted pickup, like the Wes. It's not the floating BJB. I can't find any information about it on the web so would like to know if it was custom ordered or perhaps part of a small run? Its serial number is: XXXXXXXX. It has another label inside which is signed by Hutchins. Thanks for letting me know, syl.
Custom Admin
yes, it appears that this guitar was originally a custom-ordered instrument. it originally shipped to a dealer in OH in 11/2001. Jim Hutchins is a long-time Gibson employee who oversees carved top production. this is all i can tell you on this one...
sylond
Cool, thank you. Do you know how many of these L5 ct Gibson produces/ year? Thanks
Custom Admin
well, yours appears to be one of a kind although i'm not sure what is "custom" about it, since my info is not that detailed. In general though, i would say we do approx. 12-20 of the regular production version of the L5-CT.
sylond
Well I guess mine is a thin version of the Wes Montgomery since the regular production L5CT has 2 mounted pickups or one floating BJB. 12-20 is per year right?
Custom Admin
yes, per year.
