When did + and - come back?

and why?

I am bit frustrated as they degraded my reputation for "excellent" to "good" overnight. [cursing]

Bence.

I think they must have changed the threshold at which it becomes "excellent". Never mind. You have an excellent reputation as far as I'm concerned. It's a meaningless number.

Bwahaha...

Mine is 0,

Neutral!

I have no problem with that, as I grew up in Switzerland.msp_thumbup.gif

That was good! Let me be the second person to give You a plus for that.

I think with the come back of this feature, we will see a bit more guitar porn. At least, - I hope - people will post guitars instead of kids and pets. :D

Bence.

That seems like the 5 star rating thing? As far as I can tell people who joined when I did or after never used it or the voting thing stopped? Either that or I'm very unpopular and so are a lot of the more recent memebers [crying] Even though I joined 2013, I don't think I posted until late 2014, so maybe that's it?!

After it's been back for a while you miss it if it's gone. most of the time I've been on theses pages we've had it.

I don't see the need for the minuses though as they can be misused too easily, and that's what happened previously when they were withdrawn.

When I first joined, the + - was there for a week or so and then disappeared. So it was gone just after my join date.

Ah, interesting and I see we joined around the same time, me just a few weeks later than yourself.

Thanks to whoever gave me a +1. I now feel part of the club [smile]

And how do you folks know your ratings? I'm completely lost....

Click your own name next to one of your posts and you'll see it in your profile page. It's 9 BTW. Neutral.

Hmmm....

Yes, there seems to be a busybody with a penchant for nastiness dishing out minuses.

I first noticed it when a newbie was asking a simple question about re-issues an got "minus'd". What was that all about?

OK; he asked the question in the wrong section (Gibson Acoustic) but even so. Giving a minus?

No problem; I just plussed her/him back to neutral but what an odious thing to do to a newbie with a reasonable question looking for info.

Since then I've seen that there have been a couple more scattered around the various sub-fora.

Pretty pathetic behaviour.

EDIT : I've just looked at the post I mentioned above and my reply to the OP's question has now been "minus'd"........................msp_laugh.gif...........................

How Grown-up.

That's how I feel about it.

It's nice to give a + to someone who has helped you out, or a good answer to a post, or something that just made you smile. Giving an extra + to someone who doesn't really deserve it harms no one.

On the other hand, a - can be abused as a weapon. Giving a - where it isn't deserves, does hurt someone.

Me, I'll give you a plus for something that I like, but I resolve to almost never give a minus, only in an extreme situation, and before I do, to think not twice but thrice before doing it.

After all, we're all friends here.
