RudyH
Obama is quite an enigma in that he is the president of the United States but he is not perceived as a leader and does not act like a leader. He certainly does not communicate serious issues like a leader. The most important thing about Obama, and McCain for that matter, is that both were unlikely candidates for success in this race. The country rejected the presumed Democrate nominee, Hillary Clinton. The country also rejected apparently strong Republican potential nominees, Romney and Giulliani. This says a lot about what the public senses about our nation today. We seem to sense that the country is in trouble. That said, here's the only Obama joke I know: Chelsea Clinton goes to Afghanistan and interviews a Marine. She comments on how brave he is and asks if there is anything he fears. The marine answered: Only three things: Osama, Obama, and your mama.

Homz
President Obama is what you get after 8 years of near fascism style government. The people, as people do, reacted in a self preservation mode and the pendulum swings the other way. As for being an idiot. You know that's not true. Aside from an occasional misspoken word here and there he is quite brilliant by any standard you wish to use. That's not to say he is always right. Idiot Idiot is a word derived from the Greek ?d??t??, idiotes ("person lacking professional skill," "a private citizen," "individual"), from ?d???, idios ("private," "one's own").[1] In Latin the word idiota ("ordinary person, layman") preceded the Late Latin meaning "uneducated or ignorant person."[2] Its modern meaning and form dates back to Middle English around the year 1300, from the Old French idiote ("uneducated or ignorant person"). The related word idiocy dates to 1487 and may have been analogously modeled on the words prophet[3] and prophecy.[4][5] The word has cognates in many other languages. As for me: The jury's still out on President Obama. I am inclined to give the guy more then 3 weeks before I decided how well he is doing.

SRV-Zeppelin
I like Obama. I don't like most of the people wo voted for him, thinking that he would be this "saviour" who would magically fix the war in Iraq, the economic crisis, etc, etc, etc. That being said, however, I'm not sure if he's the best man for the job... Homz
He has to be better than 8 years of Bush and Cheney. Careful with that kind of talk there are something like 10 people who still think highly of our former President and Vice President and all ten are on this forum. I am not one of the ten.
