Grover tuners

Recommended Posts

I am not sure what you mean by "legit." If you mean made in the U.S.A., Grovers have not been made in Cleveland for many, many decades. I am not sure where they are made at the moment but I would guess China. I want to say the Grovers found on most Epis have a ratio of 14:1. While I have always found these to work fine, Grover makes a better quality tuner with an 18:1 gear ratio. Hey, I have a 1920s set of Grovers with a 2:1 ratio.

The Sta-Tite vintage on my DR500MCE are not very good there 18:1. They have a nylon bushing in them that wears out. I'm on my second and last set the guitar is a 2011 model and if this set doesn't last longer than the last its Graph Tec Ratio next. Mik B)
