A link to some very interesting information about a totally iconic instrument.....[thumbup]


It comes as no surprise that a quality tone machine like the Casino should be picked up by the Beatles


And around the same time and later


Become associated with The Stones, The Kinks, Paul Weller and many more top artists....

I own a Casino and love it. But "ultimate electric archtop" is overstating the case. To me that nickname should belong to a Gibson L-5 CES or Super 400, or perhaps something by D'Angelico, D'Acquisro or Bob Benedetto.



Yes....good point.....[thumbup]


Archtops have history.....cello guitars harking back to orchestral strings with 'f' holes....


IMO the Casino and ES330 move halfway towards a typical electric guitar in terms of easy handling and convenience whilst playing standing up.....


And add that distinctive P90 edge which many players and listeners enjoy so much....[thumbup]


Also the small matter of record sales to consider....:blink:
