jhayes
I am trying to determine the year my Dove was manufactured. I have had the guitar for about 15 years and think it may be a 1969. It has the adjustable bridge and the orange oval sticker inside with the serial number. SN is also stamped on the head stock. I found on gibson.com a list of serial numbers and the range looks like '66-'69. Any way to nail it down? Thanks!

JohnnyCanuck
pics and serial #. That's a real tough few years to peg down because Gibson duplicated lots of #'s; especially '63' to '69.

JohnnyCanuck
yikes, that's a hard one to nail down - Gibson used 500000 to 500999 for 1965, 66, 68 and 69. Does your guitar have, 'Made In USA' stamped on the back of the peghead, if so Gibson used 500000's in 1974-75.
ksdaddy
There are other things too, like the tune-o-matic or lack of, screws in the guard, volute, tuners (if orig) shade of burst, bracing.... the list goes on. Once pics are put up we will have fun with it and probably nail it pretty close.
