vagabond
I don't think I could ever pick one, but right now I'm stuck on a line from a Black Keys song "All you ever wanted... was someone to treat you nice and kind." I'm sure in about 5 minutes I'll have a new line, but this one really sticks with me as something very universal; something that connects to everyone, especially people who know the blues personally more than they know them musically. That's what I think takes to make a great lyric. Universality, the ability to ring out as solidly true for everyone.
slvrbrst
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse, Out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look but it was gone. I cannot put my finger on it now. The child is grown, the dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb.

canon_mutant
JW got panned as being an arrogant A' hole in the UK music press for that song! If this is actually true, the UK needs to spend some time actually getting to know Joe Walsh. This entire song was a pun poke at rock stardom. Like he said in the farewell tour at the beginning of this song . . . "it's time to get silly" as he was breaking out the helmet cam. Joe Walsh is a playful goof that's simply made everything he's touched better - including the Eagles.

bol316
A sad but true line from a Marilyn Manson song "Everybody is someone elses ********". So true. You hate someone and someone hates you.
