Favorite line from any song?

I don't think I could ever pick one, but right now I'm stuck on a line from a Black Keys song

"All you ever wanted... was someone to treat you nice and kind."

I'm sure in about 5 minutes I'll have a new line, but this one really sticks with me as something very universal; something that connects to everyone, especially people who know the blues personally more than they know them musically. That's what I think takes to make a great lyric. Universality, the ability to ring out as solidly true for everyone.

When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse' date='

Out of the corner of my eye.

I turned to look but it was gone.

I cannot put my finger on it now.

The child is grown, the dream is gone.

I have become comfortably numb.[/quote']

I was gonna do that song, I freeking love that song.

Depends on my mood and what, but for now;

Read me your tombstone

Tell me you're sorry

Fax me your will

You owe me something still

Don't Blame Your Daughter - The Cardigans

My last gf really needs to hear this song............

Yeah, it still hurts....long story.

JW got panned as being an arrogant A' hole in the UK music press for that song!

If this is actually true, the UK needs to spend some time actually getting to know Joe Walsh.

This entire song was a pun poke at rock stardom. Like he said in the farewell tour at the beginning of this song . . .

"it's time to get silly" as he was breaking out the helmet cam.

Joe Walsh is a playful goof that's simply made everything he's touched better - including the Eagles.

Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to:

a heated kidney shaped pool,

a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,

a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,

a king-size Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,

a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,

real simulated Indian jewelry,

a Gucci shoetree,

a year's supply of antibiotics,

a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth

and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,

a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,

Rosemary's baby,

a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,

a new Matador, a new mastodon,

a Maverick, a Mustang, a Montego,

a Merc Montclair, a Mark IV, a meteor,

a Mercedes, an MG, or a Malibu,

a Mort Moriarty, a Maserati, a Mac truck,

a Mazda, a new Monza, or a moped,

a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,

or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,

a Las Vegas wedding,

a Mexican divorce,

a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,

or a baby's arm holding an apple?

She Was A Fast Machine

She Kept Her Motor Clean

She Was The Best Damn Woman I Had Ever Seen

She Had The Sightless Eyes

Telling Me No Lies

Knockin' Me Out With Those American Thighs

Taking More Than Her Share

Had Me Fighting For Air

She Told Me To Come But I Was Already There

... classic
