phil325
So i had an impulse buy again, and since i refuse to drill into the body i ordered the bobby lee screwless pickguard. thought i'd post some pictures for your guys. let me know what you think. btw you know the codes under the pickups written on the body? what does "LPbt" stand for? i have pics of that too. so here's the pickguard thanks
PMC
I dont blame you for not wanting to drill a hole in that top! Wow, looks good. If I buy a LP with out a pick-guard I would go with one of these before I would drill. I think it was a good impulse buy!
rocketman
I didn't know about them. Nice idea. Looks neat...
phil325
thanks... anyone have an idea what "LPbt" means? or possibly "LPb +"?
rocketman
anyone have an idea what "LPbt" means? or possibly "LPb +"? I think it's LP6+, which I believe stands for a LP Standard in a trans finish with '60s neck profile. The solid finishes would have LPS6. The Premium Plus has LP5P (never came in a '60s neck). phil325
oh so it's a "6"? lol. well makes sense.
LPguitarman
Wish I had known about that screwless pick guard before I drilled the holes and installed mine. Came out fine, no damage, but it would be nice to know you could remove the pick guard and not have holes in the body.
Tenthmed
Looks good. Great idea particularly if you're not quite sure, if you change your mind about it in a couple of weeks then no harm done.
phil325
tape? what do you mean? if you are asking how it's kept on, i guess it shouldn't be really called "screwless". more like "drill-less". you screw the pickguard onto the pickup rings so it's on there pretty well. Dynadude
Where do you get them? I did a quick search and came up with nothing. I like the idea, but I'm not completely sold. Does it contact the body at all? Does it come with longer screws?
phil325
you use your own screws that are already in the guitar. it comes with a little adhesive plastic cushion you can stick on under the pickguard so it won't brush against the body. i got it at bobbyleesignatureseries.com
