If you get a slightly rubbery feeling off the strings as you play, great. If you can play it without feeling that wire digging into your fingers, better yet. If you have the right balance of definition:sustain that works for you, buy it. No matter what type of design, brand, age, etc,...if you know what you want, you can run through a store's inventory in less than an hour and if you're lucky, you'll bag that perfect guitar/stringed instrument.
