New Amp Day

Riffster

Well, I did another round of tweaks to the DSL.

I added a resistor to one of the caps I had lifted from the circuit and indeed some of the floor noise was reduced.

Then I swapped a resistor on the tone stack of clean channel to increase mids and it worked perfectly.

Then I biased the amp to 18V, since 19V was still too hot for any genre of music.

Now the amp sounds great all around with the exception that all these mods do not overcome the issue of the two channels being so uneven in volume. The mods did help to narrow the gap.

Eventually I would like to add an effects loop but will play the amp like this for a while.
