Cabarone
A local guitar shop has a '71 "Lawsuit" Cortez J200...it's got a couple dings but sounds great...lots of sustain... I can get it for $500 (he's into me for a wad and would give it to me as partial payment)...I think I'm gonna pull the trigger...I'm thinking it's one of those sleepers we come across from time to time... Anybody here have any experience/opinions on this?
Big Bill
My first guitar was a Cortez Les Paul copy around 1976.
Megafrog
A Cortez is not a “lawsuit” guitar. Ibáñez made the lawsuit guitars not Cortez. If you are set on buying it, keep in mind it is not collectible and only worth about $300.
OldCowboy
Depends. If it speaks to you - calls your name as a player - why not? If you're looking for an investment, probably not.
