'Hope the nut is made of some hard stuff; the bass string (does it look like the windings vary in thickness around the post?) would "saw" into it with each tuning. Hogeye Posted November 6, 2017 Share Posted November 6, 2017 It's little known but Gibson/ Montana did a small run of 7 string acoustics way back in the middle 90's. I believe Dave's Guitar ordered them. They were fine guitars and had a perfectly normal headstock. Just a 6 string with another bass string on the bottom. The whole thing never really caught on and they quietly faded into obscurity. It would be fun to know where they went and if they are still being used.
