charlie brown
Very nice, Charlie Brown. You've got quite the SG collection, I guess you must like them? I DO, indeed "Like" (LOVE) SG's! This last one, was probably more of a "nostalgia" purchase, than a "need" based one. The very first "electric" guitar, I ever played, was a 61 SG (Les Paul) Jr.! It was our drummer's older brother's guitar, that (apparently) he had lost interest in, as he told me: "You might as well use this, as it only sits in the closet, now...I've moved on!" LOL And, use it, I did! I later purchased it, from him, for the sum total of 50 bucks! Man, do I WISH, now.. I'd have kept it, all these years. But, as was common, back then, I traded it, for some other "Treasure," I wanted. Probably my '68 SG Standard? Who knows, now?? CB
darling67
And for a mere $1900.00 more, you could have had this! http://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Gibson/Vintage-1964-SG-Junior-Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-113834741.gc Congrats! Love that thing... the headstock logo really makes it a unique axe among SGs. What I find odd is that the image on the Sweetwater page shows that the nobs are all-black ... but the guitar you received has silver-topped black nobs. Well, I could have done that, or gone "true historic" special order Custom Shop. But I truly can't justify that kind of expense, in my circumstances, these days. So, I'm quite happy, with this one! Also, if you look at the pictures, in those links, you'll see that when I got it, it had the all black knobs! Back in the day, they came both ways...especially in '61. My original '61 had the top hats, with the silver inserts. So, when I got this one, I ordered some silver insert knobs, as well. Put them on, just a few days ago. But, I kept the original's, too, just in case. CB
charlie brown
Hello CB, Can you post a picture of the back and how is the neck profile ? Thank you. As I said, above, it's a (rounded) '60's profile neck...quite comfortable, to Me. Here's a shot of the back, as requested, and the front, with the new "insert" knobs. https://i.imgur.com/4rcQGYI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RX4ZX0r.jpg CB
