James Allen
Okay guys, I've not been able to participate in the forums as much over the past couple of weeks because my mother had major emergency surgery and isn't recovering well. On top of that, my wife's dad passed away unexpectedly and quite horribly 2 weeks ago. My wife, who is a strong woman, has taken all this very hard due to the fact that it has all hit at one time. She needs a good laugh, so I'd appreciate any funny jokes, videos, stories, cartoons that may help me put a smile on her face. Laughter is the best medicine, and she needs a dose. Thanks in advance for any replies!
RichCI
Sorry to hear about all the troubles, James. Here's one from a favorite web site of mine - McSweeney's. Since you're a writer, I think you'll appreciate the humor. Comments on My Short Story I've Received From My Creative-Writing Classmates A hackneyed' date=' masturbatory miscarriage of a story. You have managed to coldly and persistently rape the English language for 17 pages. Congratulations. The fact that this story exists is the ultimate argument against Creationism. Your embarrassingly ineffectual and flaccid prose made me feel uncomfortable. This smugly written tripe is an affront to the craft of writing and fails to meet even the most generous definition of adequacy. Truly abysmal. Maybe singularly so. You had some nice details. Californiaman
If she needs a good laugh to lift her spirits check out a couple classic comedy videos. I can't recommend any right now other than Robbin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire. That'll bring a smile to her face.
