Another band tragedy and dilemma

Recommended Posts

Well, got home a little while ago from the funeral service. It was a nice service as those things go, and as one of the speakers noted, about 30% of the people in attendance were folks who've played on stage at one time or another with Mike. He really was a great bass player. Not fancy, but rock solid in the pocket. Drummers loved playing with him and he rarely made a mistake. Sang great harmonies too.

Probably not accidentally, the photo chosen for the cover of the program shows our late friend Ed, who died suddenly in 2014, in the background on drums. Some of Mike's basses were displayed next to the casket. The Rickenbacker used to belong to Ed.

Sorry for your loss. Obviously he leaves a much bigger void than that in the band. I hope you can all start to come to terms with this better now that the service is over.

So very sorry for your loss. That's incredibly sad, and I can tell a big void has been left. Thoughts with you.
