Salfromchatham
What tonal differences do you hear between a bone and tusq saddle on your Hummingbird? I am thinking of doing an experiment while I try to set up and lower the action a tad on my Hummingbird. I have about 7 saddles lying around. kelly campbell
It will be interesting to see/hear the difference. I may even decide to change mine.

seamonkey
What tonal differences do you hear between a bone and tusq saddle on your Hummingbird? I am thinking of doing an experiment while I try to set up and lower the action a tad on my Hummingbird. I have about 7 saddles lying around. i prefer the bone and changed mine. i think it sounds a bit more chimey and alive, but i also changed the pins the saddle and the strings at the same time, so it may have been the combination. plus the bone i use is sort of a mottled darker unbleached variety, and looks so good i would probably have changed it anyway. share your experiment Edited February 1, 2018 by seamonkey
E-minor7
I have the 2012 factory bone in mine and changed the factory tusq in the 2010 J-45 to bone for more presence. Will not out-rule the tusq is able to do something for the Bird. Your experiments will be followed with curiosity - keep your ears and ink-feather sharp
